When you FTP into our Server. You are automatically taken to your World Wide Web directory, www. This is where all of you files are to be placed.
When someone types in your URL without a specific file name within your www directory. The inquirey automatically returns index.html. This is the standard for all or most ISPs. Note: Some software restricts you to a three letter extension. If this applies to you, you may use index.htm instead of index.html.
Example. (Domain name). Your domain name is www.superstuff.com and you type in http://www.superstuff.com in your Browsers Address Line. Our server will return the index.html within your www directory. If you type in www.superstuff.com/homepage.html then our server returns the homepage.html file to your Browser.
Example. (Non Domain name). Your URL is www.ccinternet.net/superstuff. Your index.html should be placed in your www directory within our server. If you type in www.ccinternet.net/superstuff in your Browsers Address Line, index.html from within your www directory will be returned.
